VIETRI SUL MARE

Vietri sul Mare is a vibrant town located at the gateway to the Amalfi Coast, known for its colorful ceramics, rich history, and beautiful coastal views. Often called the “ceramic capital of Italy,” Vietri has a long tradition of crafting handmade pottery, with its bright, intricate designs found throughout the town.
Vietri’s history dates back to ancient Roman times, and it later became an important center of ceramic production during the Middle Ages. Today, visitors can explore its many workshops and stores, where artisans continue to create unique and beautiful pieces.
The Museo della Ceramica, located in the nearby Villa Guariglia, showcases stunning examples of this art form.
One of Vietri’s most iconic landmarks is I Due Fratelli, two striking sea rocks rising from the water just off the coast. These natural formations are a symbol of the town and are steeped in local legend, making them a must-see.
The Church of San Giovanni Battista, with its stunning green and yellow tiled dome, is another highlight. The church dates back to the 17th century and is an excellent example of Baroque architecture.
